Another I Do! Ashlee and Casey - White Stone Country Inn

Last week Ashlee and Casey said I do at Whitestone Country Inn in Kingston, TN. It was a wonderful day. The weather could not have been better for such a special occasion. Trees were in bloom, and the simple laid back nature of everyone made photographing this wedding a tru pleasure.

I love to hear what you all think of the pictures. Here is the slideshow.....

It is a South Thing...

Wow! What a roller coaster week. Well week-and-a-half. It all started last Thursday as I traveled to Memphis for Apryl and Jason's Wedding. I had a wonderful time with my iPod and open road. It was a exciting trip. I knew that Apryl and Jason's wedding was the first for a new radical workflow. Here it is a week later and all of their images are online.

They are a wonderful couple and the stories they shared with me are just wonderful. It turns out Jason is a IU grad. He was going to school the same time I was working for daily newspapers up there. I know I met him when I lived up there, but I just can't remember exactly how. I can tell you the man makes the best ribs I have ever had.

Friday was a great day. It started with a bridal luncheon at the Majestic Grille. It was a wonderful place. Great food for sure. Then I was off to photograph the guys playing ball on the Memphis Redbirds ball field. I can say that was a first for me.

Every detail was planned. Between the wonderful taste of the bride and the wonderful job Amy Miller Wedding and Events did it was like a wedding right out of a magazine. It was just wonderful. How can you beat a wedding at sunset on the banks of the Mississippi River. Then at the reception they had an artist, Bradford Troxel creating a painting at the event as it was happening.

Thank you two for a wonderful time! Jason I need the info for your amazing ribs dude! Check out the slide show here....

Enjoy!

Sleep Awareness Week

I got an email today reminding me that this is Sleep Awareness Week. This is something that is something that hit home for me a over a year ago. I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea. Basiclly, it is where I stop breathing at night. This is a big deal. Most people with sleep problems complain about being tired during the day. What you do not not realize folks, is that, regular sleep, is vital so your body can regenerate. Without that sleep it can kill you.

For me I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea back in September 2005. I remember what it was like. I was very short tempered. I could not drive for more than a half-hour without dozing off. I could not make it through a meeting with out falling asleep. How bad was it? I was having heart palpitations and chest pains as I would fall asleep. My snoring was so bad I would keep my wife awake. She would witness me stop breathing at night.

Then one day it happened. I thought I was having a heart attack. It turns out it was a just a panic attack. What was clear was that my health was going down hill. Sleep Apnea can cause a incredible higher risk of stroke and heart problems. It is not so good on the waste line either.

The biggest symptom is snoring. It is one of the most common health problems in the country. Having this means a life of uncertainly. People who have this have other health problems. It is easily controlled. I used a ResMed S8 CPAP machine to control mine. I have a wonderful doctor. The best in Chattanooga. Today I am 40 pounds lighter, and life is a joy again. Seriously folks it is life and death. Without it I stop breathing 71 times an hour.

Talk to your doctor, or talk to me. I will help you out. Tell you about my experience.

Enjoy!

In 6 Minutes or What?

I received a forward from my uncle, Jeff today. I must say there are only a few people I will regularly open forwards for. My uncle is one of those folks. I will keep it short because I only have 6 minutes or something bad will happen... so the email says. Heck emails are better than fortune cookies... LOL!

This forward has some real good advice in it. Pass it along. Now you only have 6 minutes... HA!

Enjoy!
Jason

ONE. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.

TWO. Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.

THREE. Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.

FOUR. When you say, "I love you," mean it

FIVE. When you say, "I'm sorry," look the person in the eye.

SIX. Be engaged at least six months before you get married.

SEVEN. Believe in love at first sight.

EIGHT. Never laugh at anyone's dream. People who don't have dreams don't have much.

NINE. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely.

TEN. In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.

ELEVEN. Don't judge people by their relatives.

TWELVE. Talk slowly but think quickly.

THIRTEEN. When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, "Why do you want to know?"

FOURTEEN. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.

FIFTEEN. Say "bless you" when you hear someone sneeze.

SIXTEEN. When you lose, don't lose the lesson

SEVENTEEN. Remember the three R's: R espect for self; Respect for others; and Responsibility for all your actions.

EIGHTEEN. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.

NINETEEN. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.

TWENTY. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice.

TWENTY-ONE. Spend some time alone.

Now, here's the FUN part!
Send this to at least 5 people and your life will improve. 1-4 people: Your life will improve slightly.
5-9 people: Your life will improve to your liking.

9-14 people: You will have at least 5 surprises in the next 3 weeks

15 and above: Your life will improve drastically and everything you ever dreamed of will begin to take shape.

A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart. Do not keep this message

Basketball Stars

On a little lighter note here are a couple of images from my two older daughters playing basketball. Which I must say they are a whole lot better at it than I ever was. I was much better at consuming my share of Frito Pie at the games. If you are from Texas you know what I am talkin' about.

First-Centenary United Methodist Church Presentation

I had the honor to speak at First-Centenary United Methodist Church in downtown Chattanooga this evening. There was a group about 100 present. It was a good time! The first time I spoke to a group this big.

What was I there to speak about? How to make sneakers of course! I was there to speak about photography. It was tough to try to pack in information in about a half-hour. I had decided earlier in the week to try to open up to questions almost immediately. I showed a brief slideshow of my work.

Just a reminder to everyone. I do this fairly regularly. I teach at the Hunter Museum. This time around will be a basic digital photography class every Thursday started at the end of March. Give them a call to register.

It was such a good time, and I love that they let me come talk tonight...

Thanks!

The Nazi Truth

On a serious note. I was forwarded this piece by my uncle Jeff by 60 Minutes. It is a must see. It is about Holocaust. This is a piece of history we can not forget. Thousands of out troops fought and died stopping Hitler and the horrible things he did early on in the 20th Century.

It is important as ever to remember the sacrifice dedication of our men and women of today and of the past of our arm forces. When we have people around the world trying to say that the Holocaust is a myth it is absurd that journalists even report on such ridiculous statements made by these dictators.

It was real folks, and this is the largest archive in the world about it's victims. Oscar Schindler's List and what happened to Anne Frank are all part of this one archive. It is truly a wonderful piece.

Houston We Have a Problem!

As a regular listener you know the announcement of many changes recently. However, missing images from the website is not one of them. The hosting of all of the images of the current wedding and events that are up has went down.

I am out of town, but I have contacted Printroom's customer's service to get a possible ETA as to when everyone's photos will be back up. This is not a problem effecting a single person or photographer using Printroom's services. The entire system seems to be down.

All of your images are safe. There is nothing to worry about, however if for some reason I do not get a quick response Pictage is ready and waiting to take on everyone's images. Should I not get a response from them by Monday. I will take the necessary steps to get everyone's images back on-line ASAP.

I am sorry about the inconvenience, and I will make this delay as short as humanly possible.

Thank you,
Jason

Even More Changes - This Time with Pictage

For some of you this will not be much of a change for others it will be a big deal. As a way to help boost my production I will now use Pictage exclusively. With the roll out of their new website they have filled several gaps that I was looking for. All weddings in the up coming weeks will be uploaded to Pictage. Once there they will be up for 90 days.

This move represents a way to decrease production times, and the system can manage the large quantities of orders I receive flawlessly.

If you are a 2006 bride your wedding will be eventually uploaded to Pictage and you will receive an email on how to access your images. For now you can still access your images the same way you always have.

This is great beacuse it will streamline my workflow tremendously. Pictage produces wonderful product and has a wonderful customer service. As a Pictage photographer it represents more of a partnership than a lab simply fulfilling orders.

You can visit their site by going to www.pictage.com. I really think this will make a big difference in production times and other issues. Now, that they are offering more than ever to their photographers it just makes sense. If anyone has any questions feel free to email me or post your question right here.

Enjoy!
